Painting with clay is meditative like a prayer for me.
I discovered clay as a material to paint with when I was living in a wild forest for 2 weeks. No electricity, cell signal or people. Shower was in the ice-cold spring. Wild animals around. Complete focusing on the moment. I was using clay to build sauna in an old cabin. I noticed that clay changed color tones when the sun light changed the angle. It was an aha moment and I understood that I found a new media to work with. I started to use clay as paint.
Clay is one of the oldest art materials people have worked with. From pottery and buildings around the World to Terracotta Army.
Clay teaches how to paint with her. Each painting process is a discovery. Patterns come out so unique and it’s impossible to repeat them again. It’s cool to look at clay as well as touch it. Feeling the whole Mother Earth surface on top of your fingertips brings a new feeling of life.
